Most DIAL volunteers are disabled or have experience of caring for someone with a disability. We actively encourage and support disabled people to volunteer with DIAL.

Volunteering is also a good way to gain some valuable experience, new skills and give back to the local community.

How do I get involved?

We have a variety of office based volunteering roles including admin support, data entry and event support.

I have received support from DIAL several times over the last few years, both for myself, friends and family. After being unemployed for a few years I ‘lost myself’ and decided it was time to make a change. I applied to volunteer at DIAL and started soon after. I’m so glad I did! I have regained my confidence and have learned many new skills.

Nikki Smith, Volunteer

What I like about volunteering for DIAL is the friendly staff who are caring and extremely welcoming, not only to me but to anyone who walks through the door. They are extremely knowledgeable about all different aspects of areas related to the job they are doing.

Kate Southall, Volunteer

The experience I gained during my time at DIAL gave me the confidence and skills to get back into paid employment. My self-esteem has been restored!

Volunteer, DIAL Solihull

Working with a very friendly and welcoming team who are passionate about the work they do. This helped to build my confidence after a difficult experience in previous employment. I wish there was a service as supportive and responsive as DIAL where I live. Disabled people in Solihull are very lucky to have DIAL.
